JAKARTA, Itech – Airline operation management technology company, merlot.aero, is entering a partnership with IndonesianCloud which will see a new level of in-country support and services that could be used to help locally-based airlines improve operational efficiencies.
The pairing will see Jakarta-based IndonesianCloud acting as a local reseller for merlot.aero, providing hardware and hosting services as well as Tier 1 and 2 resources to support local customers, with local Bahasa language options.
This infrastructure will potentially include managed internal infrastructure, and private or public cloud infrastructure. IndonesianCloud is part of the elite vCloud Powered Partners in the ASEAN region.
According to merlot.aero CEO and President, Mark McCaughan, the importance of being able to provide support within the local time zone with local language and combining excellent IT experience with local infrastructure through a fibre link to the internet will enable customers to confidently make significant changes and savings to their airline operations. It’s critical, he says, in a global environment where airlines continually struggle with cost controls.
“For merlot.aero, this allows us to extend our distribution further into Asia, where we already have a strong presence. But critically, this locally-based partnership allows greater peace of mind for customers who should be reassured by the local presence. We plan to draw on IndonesianCloud’s business experience to help guide customers through the change management process that accompanies revolutionary and often disruptive technologies.
“What we’ve developed brings fundamental changes to the airline operation, so airline management needs to be ready to put effort into how this is communicated and accepted throughout the entire company.
Neil Cresswell, CEO of IndonesianCloud, said there were a number of benefits for local airlines. “There’s the ability to connect via the local internet exchange (which means very low cost connectivity), the opportunity to request private connections, in-country hosting which minimises data sovereignty concerns and strong service levels with financial backed availability and performance guarantees.”
Merlot.aero ‘s software provides day-to-day crew and aircraft utilization, control and reporting on core operational information through a solution that is low cost, infinitely modular and enables optimised aircraft and crew utilisation through improved planning, prediction and measurement.
